56-year-old man found guilty of arson, assault with deadly weapon

EUREKA – A man accused of setting fire to a Manila homeless encampment structure has been found guilty.

Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office arrested 56-year-old Anthony Michael Domenico on August 18th in Manila after he confessed to starting the fire at a homeless encampment.

Deputies also located Thomas Uber, a resident of the structure, who said Domenico assaulted him with a tree branch.

Friday at the Humboldt County Courthouse a jury found Domenico guilty of arson of an inhabited structure and assault with a deadly weapon.

Domenico faces up to nine years for the two felonies.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 14th.
