Lighting up the holidays at the Carson Mansion

EUREKA – An iconic Eureka building will be lighting up the holidays with help from Humboldt Bay Fire.
William Carson built his mansion along Eureka’s waterfront in 1865, and it’s been adorned with lights each winter since it began operating as a club in 1950.
Wednesday morning, Humboldt Bay Fire crews used A ladder truck to hang lights all the way around the building and the cupola and then topped it off with a star.
The club transitioned to energy saving LEDs for the first time. And also for the first time this year, the Carson Mansion will host a lighting ceremony.
Ingomar Club General Manager Paul McNally invited the community to share an egg nog and gingerbread Tuesday, November 28 at 5:30.
