Arcata Police ask for help identifying man who fled traffic stop, jumped in to Humboldt Bay

ARCATA – Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who led officers on a high speed chase then jumped in to Humboldt Bay.
Arcata Police believe the man pictured above was the suspect driving a Toyota truck reported stolen out of Trinity County.
Officers attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle early Wednesday morning on Heindon Road in Arcata. The Toyota fled at high speeds for 11 miles to the Samoa Bridge.
When the truck stopped, the driver jumped over the rail and into the bay. He was not located.
Officers found evidence in the vehicle that led to a person of interest.
