Humboldt Bay Harbor District moves forward with Executive Director selection process

Samoa, Ca., (KIEM)- Since Jack Crider stepped down in September, the Humboldt Bay Harbor Recreation and Conservation District Commission has been in search of new leadership. When Crider submitted his resignation, the public asked that the selection committee be broadened.

In the last few months, an 8-person selection team has searched through over 20 resumes from prospective candidates. According to commission chair Richard Marks, some of the applicants are as far flung as Australia and the East Coast.

Now, the selection process presses on. In a closed session Thursday night, the commission will whittle down a list of 4 remaining finalists. When the meeting opens to the public at 7 p.m., that name should be presented for review.

During the public meeting the commission will also consider the purchase of a new tractor at the price of $7,500.
