North Coast legislators submit letter in support of one-acre cap on marijuana farm sizes

EUREKA, CA. – Two North Coast legislators combine efforts in requesting the state make changes to pending commercial cannabis rules, to benefit small family farms.

Originally, a one-to-four acre marijuana farm cap was planned for the state, but new rules have rid of that cap, and will make way for large-scale corporate cultivators.

Assemblymember Jim Wood and Senator Mike McGuire penned a letter to director of Cal-Cannabis Cultivation Licensing, Richard Parrott, requesting a one acreage cap be reinstated, saying, “We support the protection of small family cannabis farmers… who should be given a fair chance to succeed.”
