Larry Oetker named new Executive Director for Humboldt Bay Harbor District

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- The search for a new Executive Director for the Humboldt Bay Harbor Recreation and Conservation District is over. Thursday night, in public session commissioners voted to welcome Larry Oetker to the leadership position.

Oetker is the former City of Arcata Community Development Director. According to Humboldt Bay Harbor District Commission Chair Richard Marks, Oetker also has a good understanding of the needs and operations of the Harbor.

“We’re excited to have Larry come on and be part of the team. There’s a lot of projects and I’m very confident that Larry will be able to lead us forward.” Marks says.

Oetker was identified as a finalist for the position by an 8 person search team. The executive director position has been vacant since Jack Crider official resigned in September.
