Rio Dell to appoint Jeff Conner as Chief of Police

RIO DELL – The City of Rio Dell will appoint Jeff Conner as Chief of Police at a special meeting Wednesday.
City Manager Kyle Knopp said Conner has a long history with Rio Dell. He served as a sergeant in the department from 1993 to 2002 and also worked as a reserve officer.
Knopp said the city is confident that Conner is up to the task and it is quite a task. The chief not only manages the department of five employees but also serves as an animal control and code enforcement officer.
Conner takes over following the retirement of Chief Graham Hill in July.
The special meeting begins at 4:00p.m. in council chambers. A formal swearing-in ceremony will be held in January.
