North Coast crab season delayed again

HUMBOLDT, DEL NORTE, MENDOCINO COUNTIES, CA. – Crab fishermen of the North Coast will have to wait, as crab season is being put on hold again.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has added another fifteen day delay for the commercial Dungeness crab season.

Tests done earlier this month by CDFW revealed North Coast crabs are still not up to size for harvesting.

The season is now scheduled to start December 31.

However, that date could be pushed back even further, depending on more tests scheduled to take place by the December 22.

If the crabs still aren’t ready, the season opening will again be pushed back, to January 15.
