Trinidad selects new mayor, delays Memorial Lighthouse fee discussion

TRINIDAD – Trinidad City Council has delayed a discussion on permit fees for the Memorial Lighthouse move.
Trinidad Civic Club requested a waiver of those fees as they work to move the lighthouse about 20′ from its unstable location. City staff were recommending against the waiver due to the open-ended nature of the financial commitment, but club representatives pulled the item before it could be considered. It will likely be discussed at the January meeting.
And after several meetings on the city manager’s job performance, Dan Berman will continue to serve in the role on a one year contract with quarterly performance reviews.
Berman has been on the job for three years.
And Dwight Miller stepped down as mayor after serving for 2 years. Susan Rotwein now takes the gavel and Miller will serve as Mayor Pro Tem.
