McKinleyville man suspected of elder abuse threatens deputies

MCKINLEYVILLE, CA. – A McKinleyville man suspected of domestic abuse is arrested after threatening Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office deputies with a rifle.

The officers were responding to a domestic disturbance report at home on the 1800 block of Holly Drive in McKinleyville.

27-year-old Neil McKinnon Jr. was found there, and was suspected of elder assault and battery.

Allegedly upon deputies arrival, McKinnon Jr. ran inside to get a rifle.

Deputies say they told him to put it down, and eventually he did.

McKinnon Jr. was taken into custody on multiple charges including assault and battery, elder cruelty and threats to commit a crime.
