Managing Medicine: A New Chief Executive is Selected at St. Joseph Hospital

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- Interim Chief Executive David Southerland is returning to his role as Chief Officer of Operations at St. Joseph Health Humboldt. A new, more permanent, executive has just been appointed. Her name is Roberta Luskin-Hawk, and she last served as the Regional President and CEO of Presence Health (the largest Catholic health system in Illinois).

“Following a national search process which included interviews with the Board Chief Executive Search Committee, medical staff leadership and our executive leadership, Dr. Luskin-Hawk was selected to lead our St. Joseph Health ministries in Humboldt County – St. Joseph Hospital and Redwood Memorial Hospital.” Kevin A. Klockenga the Regional Chief Executive of St. Joseph Health Northern California says, “She has a wealth of experience and an approach to caregiver, medical staff and community relations that is well matched to the Humboldt community.  Her collaborative spirit and open communication style will be an asset as we continue to serve the health care needs of the Humboldt County region.  We look forward to her arrival in February.”

Luskin-Hawk is a graduate of the University of Illinois. She is fellowship trained in infectious disease, and has over 37 years of experience in medicine.
