See what your neighbors want from Eureka’s zoning code update

EUREKA – Hundreds turned out in November to share their vision for Eureka’s next 50 years. Now the city has made that information available to everyone.
During the zoning code workshop, community members weighed in on everything from parking regulations and building height to public safety.
Residents shared what they wanted areas like Old Town, Broadway and Henderson Center to look like moving forward.
Some described a lack of feeling safe and homeless community as barriers to making progress.
As for what the community wants to see in Eureka live show venues, hotels and bike shops received the most votes for Old Town.
And others wanted to see more commercial buildings mixed with residential uses.
This feedback will be integrated in to the city’s zoning code update which is expected to pass next fall.
