Humboldt CHP: 2 DUI crashes, 9 DUI arrests over Christmas holiday weekend

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA. – Humboldt area California Highway Patrol officers were glad to share that there were no fatal crashes locally during their Christmas Maximum Enforcement Period.

However, between Friday evening and Monday night, three were three DUI crashes and nine DUI arrests.

This weekend statewide, CHP removed over 600 impaired drivers from roadways. It would be wise to avoid the ignition interlock device because many of these impaired drivers will probably have to use them now.

Over the Thanksgiving Maximum Enforcement Period, three motorists died in Humboldt County.

CHP reminds motorists to always be careful, and throughout the year, drive sober and keep your eyes on the road.
