Humboldt welcomes first baby of the new year

EUREKA – It’s a girl! Monday morning, St. Joseph Hospital welcomed Humboldt County’s first newborn of the new year.
Mother Ahn brought her daughter Amy Ha in to the world at 9:06a.m.
Amy weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces and measured just under 21 inches long.
Staff said the birth was relatively smooth and both mom and baby were in good spirits.
Family met Amy shortly after her birth and some of her younger relatives marveled at her tiny fingers and toes.
Ahn said she’s excited to welcome her new baby.
