Safeway no longer open 24 Hours on North Coast

EUREKA- Late night shoppers on the North Coast now have one less option.

Starting this week, Humboldt and Del Norte county Safeway stores are no longer open 24 hours.

According to a sign posted at the Eureka store, the change was made because of high theft and safety reasons.

The eureka location will close at 1 am and re-open at 5 in the morning.

Safeway also has stores in Fortuna, Arcata, McKinleyville and Crescent City.
