Humboldt County deputies rescue two abandoned basset hounds

GARBERVILLE, CA. – Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Garberville deputies come to the rescue of two young basset hounds.

The year old dogs were found at about 11AM on Wednesday.

They were left in an alley behind The Blue Room of downtown Garberville, where they were abandoned in a dirty crate, with no food or water.

Deputies responded to the report, and picked them up.

Both pups have a brighter future ahead of them – they were brought to the Humboldt County Animal Shelter in McKinleyville, where they are being treated and cleaned.

Shelter staff says they expect the dogs will be up for adoption shortly.
