Victim wounded in Eureka shooting requests no further investigation

EUREKA, CA. – A wounded victim in a Eureka shooting is not requesting further investigation.

Tuesday morning at about 3:30AM Eureka police responded to the 900 block of M street where fighting and a gunshot were heard.

The crime scene was vacant upon arrival, but police met with a victim at Saint Joseph Hospital, who was shot.

He explained he had been walking on M street near 10th when three male suspects “walked out of the bushes and attempted to rob him of money,” before shooting him in the shoulder.

Then he says they fled on foot, and a passing vehicle transported him to the emergency room where he was treated for non-life threating injuries.

While the victim requested no further investigation, Eureka police say ‘because of the nature of the assault’, they are asking for anyone with information to give them a call.
