Redway man suspected of DUI crashes into utility pole after chase

LAYTONVILLE, CA. – A Redway man suspected of driving under the influence incites a chase, leading to a crash.

37-year-old Brandon Strasser was reported to California Highway Patrol officers for possible DUI in the Laytonville area at about 8:30PM Sunday.

Officers responded and saw his Ford Excursion near Branscomb and Bauer road.

As officers approached, Strasser fled west on Branscomb – before colliding with a utility pole on the 700 block, causing downed phone lines, and also damaging a CHP patrol vehicle.

There were no major injuries.

Strasser was arrested for DUI and evading arrest.
