Fortuna, Ca., (KIEM)- In spite of rainy conditions on Thursday, the CEO of Open Door Community Health Centers, and leadership from Tri-Counties bank gathered in Fortuna in front of a building under construction. That structure is the soon to be completed Open Door Clinic, expected to open in August.

Moments before the sky would open for an afternoon shower, Tri-Counties officially presented a $30,000 donation to Open Door Community Health. That’s the largest donation made by a financial institution to date. Thousands of dollars have been donated by businesses and individuals across the Eel River Valley to be put towards the project.

The Fortuna clinic is expected to be a state of the art health care center, offering new space for primary care doctors. It will also house dentists and dental hygienists in the Eel River Valley.
