Probationer Resists Arrest, Found in alleged possession of tear gas, narcotics

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM)- A Fortuna resident, Robert Lippert, is now booked at the Humboldt County Jail after he allegedly failed to stop for Arcata Police Officers during a routine traffic stop on the 1700 block of G street.

Lippert’s Ford F-150 would lead officers on a pursuit toward McKinleyville, ended due to public safety concerns. Lippert would loop back to Arcata before the chase was abandoned again by officers. At that time, the vehicle was identified as belonging to the Fortuna man, who was released from custody on probation. He was arrested previously for illegal possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

As the investigation continued, officers would search a motel room checked out in Lippert’s name. There he would be arrested again under new charges, including: felony reckless evading, felon in possession of a tear gas, committing a felony while on bail, possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation.
