Burglary suspects found with hash lab in Fortuna motel

FORTUNA, CA. – A proactive neighbor tips Fortuna police, leading to two arrests in connection to burglary and an illegal hash lab operation.

Carrie Fuller and Leland Shinn were arrested Tuesday afternoon.

A resident called Fortuna police after catching multiple subjects on camera burglarizing a home on the 1900 block of 9th Street.

The getaway car was later spotted on Main Street, and officers confirmed stolen items were inside.

They then tracked down Carrie Fuller in relation to the vehicle at a motel room on the 800 block of Main Street.

There they found her and Leland Shinn, along with more stolen property, and an illegal butane hash oil extraction lab.

Both were taken into custody – Shinn for burglary, and Fuller for manufacturing a controlled substance by means of chemical extraction, possession of stolen property and using a scanner for the purpose of avoiding police detection.
