Kitchen denied request to leave for trip to Oregon

EUREKA, CA. – Marci Kitchen of Fortuna has her motion to leave the state denied.

Kitchen was back in court Monday morning, to request Judge Graham Cribbs allow her to make a trip to Oregon to visit her boyfriend’s sister, who is sick.

There have been several delays to the start of the trial.

Kitchen is accused of running over and killing two girls including her daughter in 2016, on Eel River Drive in Fortuna.

Investigators said Kitchen was under the influence at the time of the incident.

She has left the country twice, and visited her boyfriend’s family in Oregon once, since.

Judge Graham Cribbs, however, will not allow her to leave this time.

Kitchen’s trial is still expected to begin May 29.
