Coast Guard assists fishing boat near Trinidad

TRINIDAD- A late night call for help from just west of Trinidad sends the Coast Guard to find a disabled 100-year old boat.

Two fishermen on the “Radiant”, a 40-foot commercial fishing vessel, radioed at about 11 Monday night, citing electrical and propulsion problems.

The Humboldt Bay Coast Guard station sent a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew to help.

Around one Tuesday morning, they put the “Radiant” in side tow and then made the three hour trip back to Woodley Island Marina in Eureka where it was moored.

No one was hurt.
