CRESCENT CITY- Some area officials are taking steps to get News Channel 3 and our sister station, KVIQ, back on the spectrum cable system in Del Norte County.

When we visited Crescent City last week, we heard from many unhappy cable customers.

Our owner, Northwest Broadcasting, it still trying to negotiate with Spectrum to return our programming, but the cable company isn’t talking.

Not only are residents upset our programming is no longer available to them, they’re also angry that Spectrum has offered no refund to its customers.

“There’s a service and it needs to be provided here,” said Del Norte County Supervisor Chairman Chris Howard. “If you’re not, refund us now that was the request that was asked in this letter that went out to charter and I also copied it to the Federal Communications Commission and also the state of California including legislative representatives Assemblyman Wood.”

We’ve received emails and calls from Spectrum customers who say they’re dropping cable because they can’t get their local news, weather, sports and network programs.

We’d like to hear your thoughts on this situation. Call us at (707) 443-3123, email us at news@redwoodnews-dot-tv or message us on Facebook or Twitter.
