Threat on social media sends law enforcement to Winship Middle School

EUREKA- A local school went on modified lockdown after the threat was made over social media.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office says the threat was directed towards students at Winship Middle School, posted on social media at about 8:30 Wednesday morning.

Deputies went to the school, and said there is no imminent threat. Deputies and Eureka Police officers remained there throughout the day, and had extra patrols near Eureka City Schools.
