Items recovered from Eel River linked to missing Southern California family

LEGGETT- Authorities in Mendocino County continue their search for an SUV that was swept into the Eel River last week, and matches the description of a missing family’s vehicle.

The vehicle reported missing was carrying four members of a family from Valencia, California, who were on a trip from Portland, Oregon to San Jose.

The members of the Thottapilly family, a father, mother and their two children, suddenly stopped communicating with family members in Valencia last Thursday. Their last known location was around Klamath.

Several items found at the scene have been identified by those belonging to the family.

The Mendocino sheriff’s office has called for a noontime press conference Friday in Leggett.
