Pedestrian Killed in US-101 Hit-and-Run

Humboldt County, Ca., (KIEM)- On Thursday night, California Highway Patrol responded to a call at 8:50 p.m. A man was found lying in the road, off the North bound lane on Highway 101 at the State Route 200 interchange. Traffic was diverted onto Central Avenue while Arcata Police and CHP started an investigation.

The man had been struck by a vehicle, and died at the scene. His identity has not been released, pending the notification of his next of kin. The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and an investigation is underway.
