Humboldt Botanical Garden: Annual Plant Sale

April showers are a real “buzz” kill, but it brought in May flowers just in time for Humboldt Botanical Garden’s annual spring sale.

The purpose of the plant sale is to help create a habitat for butterflies, bees, and other pollinators in the home garden. 1/4 of the Greenhouse Garden will be filled with more than 150 varieties of butterfly host plants. They will also offer a large selection of succulents, citrus, and other plants for hummingbirds.

Garden manager, Terry Kramer tells us that most of the plants in the greenhouse they propagated themselves. They also received a lot of help from locals who reached out and donated plants to keep the garden going.

All proceeds will go towards the Humboldt Botanical Garden to keep it running for years to come. The “Butterflies and Blooms” plant sale will take place tomorrow from 9 am to 3 pm at the garden on the North side of College of the Redwoods.
