Surveillance footage leads to a quick arrest

EUREKA., CA (KIEM)- Tonight, a Eureka bank robber is behind bars on 50-thousand dollars bail. 31-year old Robert Isaac Monroy entered the u-s bank at the corner of “F” and Wood Street at about two-pm yesterday afternoon.

Once Monroy left the building, surveillance footage allowed for a detailed description of the suspect.It only took about two hours until eureka Bayshore mall security recognized the subject at a bus stop, and contacted Eureka police.

Monroy was arrested, and most of the stolen money was returned back to the bank.Today, Eureka police chief Steve Watson spoke to us about how the suspect didn’t think through his actions.
