Humboldt County inspector arrested for bribes from marijuana owners

EUREKA- A Humboldt County planning and building inspector is accused of a serious charge.

47-year-old Patrick William McTigue of Fortuna has been arrested for allegedly taking bribes from cannabis growers.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office says it had been investigating McTigue since last November, after receiving complaints from several people.

McTigue is accused of taking more than $100,000 to expedite permit approval on grading and building projects.

He faces charges of commercial bribery, grand theft, and being a state official asking for or receiving a bribe.
