Domestic disturbance call leads to firearm violation arrest in McKinleyville

MCKINLEYVILLE, CA. (KIEM)From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On June 11, 2018 at about 6:15 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the area of Reasor Road in McKinleyville. While responding to Reasor Road, deputies learned that a white suburban associated with the disturbance had left the scene, the driver possibly in possession of a firearm. Soon after, deputies observed the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on Central Ave. near Pickett Road.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Central Ave. and contacted the driver, 19-year-old Kyle Gildesgard of Eureka. Gildesgard was visibly injured as a result of a prior physical altercation leading to the original disturbance call on Reasor Road. While searching Gildesgard’s vehicle, deputies discovered a short-barreled shotgun.

Gildesgard was arrested and transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was then booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a short-barreled shotgun. His bail is set at $50,000.
