Redding man arrested after allegedly stealing water from fire fighters

Shasta County, Ca., (KIEM)- 40-year-old Christopher John Smith has been booked at the Shasta County jail, arrested by Cal Fire Law Enforcement. They say his white Mazda was spotted around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday near the Creek Fire. Smith was also allegedly caught on a surveillance video stealing cases of water that has been designated for fire fighters. Upon searching the vehicle, officers say they found a partial case of the stolen bottled water.

He was also found in possession of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia according to Cal Fire.
