Madrone expected to take fifth district seat by 118 votes

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Although Election Day was nearly a month ago, the results for one particular race are just now coming to a more finalized conclusion.

Humboldt County released a final election report on Wednesday, and in the heated race for the 5th District Supervisor seat, Steve Madrone is coming in with the win.

By just 118 votes ahead, Madrone will take over incumbent Ryan Sundberg’s spot on the board.

These results still need to be signed off on by California Secretary of State, which is required to happen by the July 13.
