Residents walk in solidarity and remember the lives of teenagers, Kiya Kitchen and Faith Tsarnas, who were killed in a hit-and-run crash two years ago.

Residents started their two mile walk from three different locations, and convened at Fortuna’s park and ride, near the site of the crash. There, they shared prayers, hugs, and tears.

The vigil was led by, Pastor Michael Delamarian of Hydesville Community Church. It’s the same church that Kiya and Faith attended.

Investigators say the teenagers were skateboarding when they were hit by a vehicle on July 12th of 2016.

And just two years after their passing, the community leans on each other for support.

The accused driver of the fatal hit and run crash, is Fortuna resident Marcia kitchen. She is the mother of one of the victims, Kiya Kitchen. The trial is set for August. We will continue to bring viewers updates from that court case as proceedings get underway.
