Marci Kitchen trial rescheduled for September

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – As of last Thursday, it’s been over two years since two young girls were killed in a hit and run crash in Fortuna – but the trial is being pushed back, again.

Instead of starting in August, the Marci Kitchen trial is being rescheduled for September 4.

Kitchen is suspected of killing her daughter, Kiya Kitchen, and her daughter’s friend, Faith Tsarnas, while drunk driving on Eel River Drive in July of 2016.

Her new defense attorneys requested more time, and on Friday Judge Kaleb Cockrum scheduled the September date.

It’s possible her trial could be re-located.

Last Thursday, community member marched in memory of the young girls – you can watch that story, here.
