Smoky conditions expected to last through Thursday in Del Norte County

Del Norte County, Ca., (KIEM)- Wildfire conditions remain active in Northern California and Oregon. According to the North Coast Air Quality Management District, the majority of smoke impacts will continue along the Oregon border in Del Norte County. River drainage in the Klamath and the Smith River may also see some periods of smoke from these fires.

If you’ve noticed smoky conditions in your community, here are some basic tips to get through a smoke event:
Minimize outdoor activities and keep doors and windows closed as much as possible. If you can turn off fans or swamp coolers that may bring smoky air inside, and avoid creating in door air pollution by smoking or frying food.

The North Coast Air Quality manager are saying smoke impacts are expected to continue through Thursday evening.
