Arcata Police Department connects with kids through BBQ

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) The Arcata Police Department sparked up the grill, Wednesday, in spirit of the departments Hotdog Jamboree at Redwood Park.

Police Officers and children got the opportunity to chow down and chat, among one another.

Sargent Hoffman of APD and camp-goers of the Redwood Park Day Camp agree that it’s efforts such as this, that help ease communication between ADP and the youth.

“It gives us an opportunity for them to be comfortable with us. And know that they can come to us at any point in time, if they ever need us. It’s just part of the family affair we try to develop here,” said Hoffman.

This is the Arcata Police Department’s third annual Hotdog Jamboree.
