Redwood Acres opens doors to wildfire evacuees

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM) Redwood Acres opens its doors to the victims of the ongoing wild fires. Evacuees are able to park their RV’s or set up camp, for free. Space is also available for displaced animals.

CEO of the Redwood Acres, Cindy Bedingfield, said at times like this, this is what the redwood acres are for, providing a lending hand.

“The one good thing that comes out of a disaster like this is you see what the community is truly made of and everyone is pulling together,” expressed Bedingfield. “Our hearts go out to these people and it’s so uplifting to see people caring about other people.”

Bedingfield said not many people have called to reserve a spot but anyone displaced can call the Redwood Acres.
