Body found along Highway 101 identified

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office: 

The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has identified the body of a man found deceased near Highway 101 yesterday (Wednesday) as that of 18-year-old Hunter Allen of Eureka.

On August 1, 2018, at about 3:30 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 101 just north of the Humboldt Hill exit for the report of a deceased male subject found near the roadway.

The deceased male appears to have been in his late teens or early twenties. He has not been identified at this time. This death has been determined suspicious and is under investigation. An autopsy of the body is scheduled for August 8.
