US Coast Guard and Eureka Police Department play ball

EUREKA – The city of Eureka celebrates US Coast Guard month. Eureka Police and the Coasties left the streets and water for the softball diamond.

The coast guard has a long history of service along Humboldt Bay and Eureka dating back 1856. The game brings the community together. To watch those who keep us safe compete against each other in a softball game. And they had a ball cheering on the teams on.

The celebration continues tomorrow with an open house at the Humboldt Bay Coast Guard station.  There will also be a plaza dedication at the foot of “F” street in old town, Eureka.
