Carr Fire 45% contained

Shasta County, Ca., (KIEM)- The Carr Fire now stretches across an excess of 4,000 square miles. To put that into perspective, the City of Eureka is sized at about 255 square miles.
Ripping through the Redding area, the Carr Fire has claimed the life of a PG&E worker, two fire fighters, and a 70-year old woman and her great grandchildren.
The devastation is real– current estimates show 1,080 homes have been leveled. More than 500 other structures laid to waste.
Cal Fire works now to repopulate evacuation areas as conditions allow– pg&e working to restore power. Still thousands remain displaced as containment sits at just 45%.
