BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – A memorial is scheduled for a Cal Fire mechanic killed while on duty in the Carr Fire.
40-year-old Andrew Brake passed away Thursday morning in a single vehicle crash on his way to the Carr Fire.
Brake was a formerly a firefighter in Humboldt County, and started his career as a firefighter in Bridgeville.
Cal Fire announced Monday they will hold a memorial for Brake this week.
The memorial is scheduled for this Friday, August 17 at 5:00pm at the St. John Episcopal Church in Chico.
Brake grew up in Chico and is survived by his parents, and sister.
