Southern Humboldt shooting suspect rejects plea deal

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – A Southern Humboldt shooting suspect turns down a plea deal from the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office.

In January of last year, Casey Floyd Felt was arrested for shooting 24-year-old Christine Elizabeth Turkovich in the leg, along the Avenue of the Giants.

He had until Monday to plead guilty in a plea deal that would require him to serve 15 years for the crime.

Felt turned down the offer, and will proceed in trail, at the risk of receiving a life sentence.

He remains booked on $1,000,000 bail.
