Eureka mother, son plead not guilty to fatal stabbing

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – A Eureka murder suspect and his mother enter the Humboldt County Courthouse to be arraigned on Tuesday.

38-year-old Lorna Jean Leen, along with her juvenile son, both entered not guilty pleas.

As per local reporter John Chiv, Leen was seen crying while entering the courtroom, and during her arraignment.

The mother and son were arrested Friday morning near Bayshore Mall, in relation to the fatal stabbing at Ocean View Cemetery on Thursday night.

The juvenile is believed to be responsible for stabbing of 16-year-old Brandon Brocious of Eureka.

Both of the suspect’s bail remains set at one million dollars.

It is not yet decided if the juvenile suspect will be tried as an adult. That decision is scheduled to be made October 18.
