Kim Bergel announces her re-candidacy for Eureka City Council

Eureka., Ca (KIEM)- The field is now set for the race for Eureka’s City Council.

Announcing her campaign for re-election tonight — current council member Kim Bergel says she’s here to earn her keep. Elected to Eureka’s ward 3 back in 20-14, re-zoning has Bergel running for ward 5 this time around.

She’s pushed ordinances that deal with pan handling and public safety, but more recently has dealt with controversy over proposed changes to H and I streets. Bergel voted to see those street’s lanes reduced, which she believes will decrease traffic accidents. Bergel feels the winner of race will depend on who is willing to work the hardest.
