Newburg Park dedication placards underway

Fortuna’s Newburg Park is closer to getting two new dedications, for community members Dennis Wendt and Roger Harwood, for their years of commitment to the city.

The Newburg Park Sports Complex is slated to be named the Dennis Wendt Sports Complex. And softball field two will be dedicated to Roger Harwood.

Mayor Sue Long, tells us they would like to combine metal and wood, making the placards more creative. She says their highest estimate was $1,900 and the community has donated that, and then some.

Long says she hopes the two new dedications will be up for the public to see no later than this winter.
