Fortuna City Council continues to seek new city manager, applications due next week

Fortuna continues to seek a new city manager and the deadline for turning in an application is next Friday the 31st.

Merrit Perry, the city’s interim manager, assumed the role after Mark Wheetley resigned amidst controversy in April. Since then the city advertised through sites like Indeed and Craigslist to find a permanent replacement. Mayor sue long tells us she is pleased with the turnout of applicants thus far. They have around 20 applications to sort through at the moment, 12 of them being highly considered.
