Orleans Volunteer Fire revamps department with help of funding

The Orleans Volunteer Fire Department receives a grant from a local credit union, and is preparing for some major changes.

The Orleans Fire Department has begun building a new fire station to replace its unsafe fire hall- built before the 1964 flood. Thanks to Coast Central Credit Union, the department can now act as their own tactical rescue team with the purchase of more modern safe rope equipment, and a new rescue vehicle. They expect major improvements in response time, as well as patient safety.
