Mendocino Complex Fire 90% contained, Humboldt donation fund raises $7,500 for victims

MENDOCINO NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. (KIEM) – Firefighters make a huge stride on containing the Ranch Fire, the still roaring half of the Mendocino Complex Fire.

The Ranch Fire makes up 410,182 acres, of the 459,102 acre complex – which is now 90% contained.

With 10% of the perimeter of the fire left to contain, firefighters expect to reach that mark by this Saturday.

The Mendocino Complex Fire started on the July 27, forcing thousands of evacuations. Any updates to mandatory evacuations are available, here.

Humboldt County sent help financial help to Mendocino Complex Fire victims in Lake County on Monday.

Humboldt County Supervisor Rex Bohn delivered a $7,500 check to the Lake County Silver Foundation. The money was raised in local donations through the Humboldt Cares Fund at Redwood Capital Bank.

All funds will go to help fire victims get back on their feet.
