Local crime specialist shares ‘7 hooks’ of phone scammers at state symposium


FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – Crime prevention Specialist, Enoch Ibarra, represented the Fortuna Police Department at the 41st Symposium of the “California Crime Prevention Officers Association” in Sacramento this past week.

Ibarra was selected to speak at the conference, where he focused his presentation on key techniques that scammers use to trick people. He says everything from lust to intimidation, fall into the “7 hooks”, or human weaknesses scammers look for.

To learn more about the “7 hooks”, and get tips on how to avoid scammers, Ibarra will be speaking at Fortuna’s Monday Club on the Monday, the 24th, at noon.
